About
Vision:
The prime vision of the Kings Library is to bridge the gap between the Student’s knowledge and the existing skills of Employability.
The College is endowed with a fully computerized main library with an area of 1164 Sq.mt, which has a collection of nearly 33500 books, 2173 CD ROMs(Books & Journals), besides subscribing to nearly 68 national printed journals, 1843 online national international journals & magazines and 8 daily Newspapers. In addition, it has a collection of 475 back volumes of journals and magazines. A comfortably furnished reading room provides conducive environment for its members. Apart from this, individual departments have their own specialized collection of books. The library has a special collection of books for various examinations like TOEFL, GRE, GATE (all Branches), and UPSC. The library has an Institutional Membership with DELNET and National Digital Library. The DELNET and National Digital Library access provide the Staff, Students and Research Scholars with the benefit of resource sharing in the field of Science and Technology. Our library has 23 numbers of reputed IEEE journal collections as back volumes and are available in printed format for ready reference. The Library has also subscribed necessary E –Resources as per AICTE Norms. Besides, Core Departments have facilities viz.. Own departmental library & NPTEL Video facility. The Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) is available in our Library.

At the time of establishment of college in 2001, the Library had a collection 5000 Books. The collection of the Library has grown up considerably within a span of 25 years covering in Technology, Science, various aspects of humanities and extra. The Library collection has now reached 33431 books

DELNET-Developing Library Network, New Delhi is a major resource sharing library Network in India connecting more than 9400 institutions in 28 States and 8 Union Territories in India and few other countries comprising of Universities, Colleges, R&D organisations, medical hospitals, etc. DELNET is devoted to the Modernisation & Networking of Libraries. It was registered as a Society on June 30, 1992. It is located in Jawaharlal Nehru University Campus, New Delhi. “Networking Libraries, Sharing and Spreading Knowledge” remains the prime motto of DELNET with which it is working relentlessly for past more than 32 years. DELNET has received the prestigious IIPA Award for Excellence in Public Services on October 30, 2020 announced in the gracious presence of the Hon’ble Former Vice President of India Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu.
The main objectives of DELNET is to promote resource sharing among the Member-Libraries by collecting, storing and disseminating information and by offering networked library services to users; to undertake research in the area of information science and technology, offer technical guidance to Member-Libraries; coordinate efforts for suitable collection development; facilitate and promote Inter Library Loan and delivery of documents, etc. DELNET has developed Discovery Portal, Knowledge Gainer Portal, Vision Portal (Video Lectures), Global Research and Innovation Portal(GRIP),etc. The portals have sophisticated features for advance knowledge discovery. It is a simple, single window discovery layer which encourages the users to explore the networked library/knowledge resources offered through DELNET in a feature-rich environment. DELNET is a great boon for faculty, researchers, scholars, students, etc. of Member-Institutions. Library Advisory Committee
Constitution
Library Advisory Committee (LAC), an advisory body in nature, acts as a bridge between Library and the executive body. The objective of LAC is to represent the importance of adopting modern technologies in the contemporary context of knowledge explosion. Keeping in mind the revolution takes place in information exploration at the backdrop of Internet and social media, library activities should be rationalized. The role of Library advisory committee is to promote Library activities as per the information exploration. The Committee will meet twice in an academic year with at least 50% of its membership consisting a quorum.
Library advisory committee consists of the following members:
- A Senior Professor nominated by the Principal as Chairman of the LAC.
- One senior faculty member at the level of HOD nominated by the Principal
- One faculty member nominated by the Chairman of LAC as Faculty representative.
- One external member nominated by the Chairman of LAC
- Librarian – Secretary.

Functions:
- The committee will recommend appropriately for procurement of new books / new journals / online journals.
- The committee will advocate creating of new infrastructure, if required / up gradation of technology in a sense of disseminating knowledge to the target groups.
- The committee will look into the issues of the clients, Library staff and send recommendations to the authorities concerned for suitable decisions.
- The committee liaisons between Main Library and the academic departments for effective functioning of departmental libraries.

Library Rules and Regulations
- Silence must be observed in the Library.
- Personal belongings are not allowed inside the Library.
- Every staff / student of the college is eligible for membership of the Library.
- The Library can be utilized by the students and staff from 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. on working days.
- All students should sign the entry register of the Library before entering.
- Books borrowing limit: Faculty – 5, Non Teaching staff – 3, Student – 3.
- Three books can be borrowed by students. The borrowed books (including Tamil books) can be kept only for ten (10) days from the date of issue. Renewal can be made on the 10th day of issuance, extended for a further 5 days.
- The borrowed book should be returned on or before the due date; otherwise, an overdue charge of Rs.2/- per day for students will be collected.
- If the due date falls on holidays, return can be done on the following working day without fine.
- Reference books will be issued to students for one day only under emergency conditions.
- Borrower’s tickets are not transferable.
- Books are to be handled very carefully. If a book is lost, the student shall replace it (same title, author, edition) or shall pay triple the cost of the book as fine.
- Members must ensure borrowed books are in good condition before checkout and report damages immediately. Otherwise, they will be held responsible.
- Members must not underline, write in, fold/tear pages, or deface books in any form. Fines will be levied depending on the damage.
- Misbehavior in the library will lead to membership cancellation and serious disciplinary action.
- If a borrower’s token is lost, the member should submit a written report to the librarian. A duplicate token will be issued on payment of Rs. 50/-.
- Members are held responsible for loss or non-return of books issued against their original/duplicate borrower’s ticket.
- All final-year students should return their library token and books, and obtain a “No Due Certificate” from the library to receive their Hall Ticket.
- Staff members leaving the college must settle all dues and obtain a “No Due Certificate” from the library.
- Students & Faculty members can take photocopies of Question Banks, Journal Articles, and reference documents at Rs. 2.00 per copy.
- Access of Pen Drives is strictly prohibited.
Library Services
Membership:
Every staff / student of the college is eligible for membership in the Library. Membership is granted on understanding that all library rules bind themselves and to return all book materials issued to them on their own and obtain a No dues certificate at the time of end of their membership.

Circulation
Circulation Section is a gateway between users and Documents. It plays a major role in the Library circulation section. Kings Central Library Circulation performs Issues, Returns and Renewals of Books and other related material using the Software. In addition, other works like Membership registration, No dues clearance, Book Reservation, Overdue fine collection etc. are also carried out.
Reference
The Reference section of the Library houses the Library’s reference books; those that are meant to provide quick and accessible information on any particular topic. Reference books include topics that are intended to guide researchers in their studies. Reference books include materials such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, bibliographies, among others. Reference books are meant to be accessible to as many people as possible, and as such, are not permitted to leave the library. The Reference section in the Central Library can be found on the Library’s ground floor. Reference items are shelved in a reference collection located separately from circulation Items.
Borrowing
A new student has to collect the membership cards available at the circulation counter. After collecting the membership cards, they can barrow books from the Library. All students, faculty, and staff members are issued with the membership cards and the terms are as follows:

Photocopy Services
Based on requisition, photocopies of the library documents are made available mainly for academic purpose, subject to the following conditions:
- Documents protected under the Copyright Act will not be reproduced entirely for personal use.
- The copying charges are Rs.2/- per copy.
Current Awareness Service
In order to keep library users informed about the latest additions, the following are displayed on regular basis:

- Announcement of information on national / international Conferences etc..
- Newspaper Clippings, (news - items of interest)
