About Department
The Electrical and Electronics Engineering department was started in the year 2001. The department offers a 4 year B.E programme and a 2 year M.E. programme in EEE & PED respectively. The department has a team of highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty to impart quality education to the students.
All the laboratories are well established with the state-of-art equipment and latest licensed software for simulation studies help our students to achieve their goals. The department offers a stimulating environment for its students to do their project work and to identify and seek solutions to the problems of industries. A student passing out of this department will have the ability to build, motivate and lead project teams effectively and will have the confidence to solve complex technical problems and organizational issues. Laboratories are well-equipped with all the latest equipment as per the syllabus.

Programme Outcomes (POs)
- PSO1: Apply the principles of physics, chemistry, environmental science, mathematics (including Laplace Transforms, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra and Complex Variables), Electrical, Electronics and Computer Science with laboratory skills to analyze and solve the complex problems in electrical engineering and allied interdisciplinary areas.
- PSO2: Model, Analyze, Design, Testing, Operation and Maintenance of high currents electrical systems such as Electrical Machines, Power and Energy Systems.
- PSO3: Work proficiently in major thrust areas in Electrical Engineering and recent technology courses to provide solutions to the current real time problems to meet the demands of industries and identify research gaps which lead to new ideas and innovations.

Electronics and communication engineering stands out as a highly sought-after field within the vast realm of engineering, offering extensive opportunities for technological innovation and professional growth.
The Indian job market for Electronics and Communication Engineers is expected to grow at a steady 7% annually. For ECE, job growth is predicted with more than 345,800 positions by 2026 and overall employment is projected to grow 5% from 2022 to 2032, faster than the average for all occupations.
ECE students also have lots of opportunities in Government and private companies in the areas of design, manufacture, installation, operation, and maintenance of electronics equipment and systems. New opportunities and avenues are also opening for electronics & communication engineers due to the integration of electronics into various new industrial verticals.
Electronics students with skills in robotics, automation technologies, renewable energies, Internet of Things (IoT), mechatronics engineering concepts add more value to their average pay scale. Students pursuing electronics engineering aim to get a highly paid job, so improving their skill sets will impact their pay scale a lot.

Our department received the Best Maintenance Award for the academic year 2024–2025."
Our faculty members and students have secured funding for two TNSCST projects.
Dr. S. Vasantharaj, along with students Aravindhan R., Jegadeesan R., and Yogesh C., received a fund of ₹7,500 from TNSCST for the project titled “A Smart Monitoring System for Transformer Breather Analysis Using TinyML”.
Dr. G. Suganya, along with students Miilton Infant Rai. P, Thavatheesh. S, and Veeraselvan. V., received a fund of ₹ 7,500 from TNSCST for the project titled “An IoT based predictive interpretation of dissolved gases in transformer oil using edge impulse”.
PAPER PUBLICATIONS
Dr. G. Suganya published 2 articles in IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation Measurement (SCI, Q1, IF: 5.6)journal, and one article in IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics (SCI, Q1, IF: 9.8)journal during the year 2024-2025.
Dr. S. Vasantharaj and Dr. S. Naveen Prakash published a Scopus article in Smart Grids and Sustainable Energy journal during the academic year 2024-2025.
INDUSTRIAL VISIT AND LOCAL VISIT ORGANIZED BY THE DEPARTMENT
Students visited the Siemens Centre of Excellence in Manufacturing at the National Institute of Technology, Thiruchirappalli on 04.08.2024.
Organized an Industrial visit at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchirappalli on 26 th February 2025.

STUDENTT ACHIEVEMENTS
III year students attended a workshop on Electric Vehicles and Energy Storage Technologies from 24.03.2025 to 28.03.2025 at the National Institute of Technology, Trichy, which emphasized the need for EV battery management systems and the utilization of hydrogen storage.
A second-year student won second place in the Poster Presentation conducted at Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Engineering College on April 4, 2025.
A second-year student secured second place in the Ideathon event at the National Level Technical Symposium organized by Study World College of Engineering, Coimbatore.
A Final year student secured second place in the event of Poster presentation at the National Level Technical Symposium organized by Dhaanish Ahmed College of Engineering, Chennai on 4th April 2025.
Our students delivered an online Spectrum Talk on the topics 'Blackout: Causes, Impacts, and Prevention' and 'EV Batteries with Nanoscale Coatings'.

GUSET LECTURE / WORKSHOP / SYMBOSIUM CONDUCTED BT THE DEPARTMENT
A workshop on 'Recent Advancements in Microgrids Using Optimization Techniques' was organized on 19th September 2024.
A guest lecture on 'Electric Vehicle Technology' by Mr. R. Venkatesh, M.E., (Ph.D.), Head of the Department of EEE, SVCET, Puducherry, will be held on 02.05.2025.
A guest lecture on the topic 'Role of Solar Energy in Recent Power Systems' was conducted on 20th February 2025.
An alumni talk was delivered by our former student Er.S.Jegadeesan (Alumni: 2013-17 Batch), Senior Technical Professional, Kellogg Brown and Root Inc, Chennai.
